Lou Sagatov is an ideal realtor. He was available to us 24-7, was extremely prompt in returning calls and emails, made ever meeting on time even though driving from Fairfax to Arlington; and told us from the beginning the exact price we should charge. He was very patient and empathetic with us as we overpriced because he understands seller psychology: (we all think our homes are the best, right?) Being an architect and developer by profession, he was able to provide a complete list of qualified, competitively priced artisans for home improvement, but in all candor advised against over-investment, thus putting our interests above his own (we could have gotten a higher price by improving, and he a higher commission, but our profit would be lower–and he cared about that). He was generous in setting and splitting his commission, and very respectful of other realtors. His attitude was always positive and his temperament calm. This last trait was perhaps the most important one, as there were times when we sellers became anxious. Even after closing he stayed with us, making sure our payment went through. Simple a great pro all around.
This was my first time purchasing a house alone. Lou made it sure I feel comfortable in every step during the process. He sees properties from buyer’s perspective of course but as well as seller’s. Lou is very straightforward to tell me (in details!) about what I can/cannot do with the property even as potential. His communication is so good that I didn’t have to feel anxious which is the best thing you can expect from him. I feel comfortable contacting him even after 2 years of the deal! He also cares how I and my family are living in the new property. He is very sweet! If I ever have to sell property, I’m 100% sure I will talk to him first. No one else!
