114 Tapawingo was inspired by a desire to bring fresh ideas for home design and living to Vienna. The clean, minimalist exterior—inspired by traditional Virginia farmhouse design—incorporates a modern twist: A cube accent that serves as a contrasting element, setting the tone for the home.
On the main level, an angled art wall leads into a gourmet chef’s kitchen designed around a large, functional island with honed Carrera marble counters, a professional-grade BlueStar range, and ample bar seating. Opposite the island, the main cabinet wall holds 2 ovens, a Thermador refrigerator & dishwasher, and 2 sinks.
The open kitchen overlooks the combined dining/great room beyond— a space full of windows and light, with a gas fireplace on one end and built-ins for TV equipment above. A screen porch leads off the dining area, creating the ideal space for both living and entertaining.
The interior of the main level and upper hallway above are bathed in natural light pouring from a 2-story custom wood and steel staircase topped by large skylights.
The upper level features a spacious master suite with a clean, bright master bath clad in white tile, a free-standing tub, spa-style shower, and 2 walk-in closets.
Also on the upper level: Three generous bedrooms—one with an en-suite bathroom, and two sharing a jack-and-jill bath, and a large laundry room.
The lower level features a rec-room with built-in bar, a media room, a 5th bedroom with connected hall bath, an exercise room, under-stair storage, and utility room.
Both the main level and upper levels are clad in 5” white oak hardwood flooring, while the lower level features a vinyl floor with cork underlayment.
Out back, the screen porch overlooks a large, flat expanse of lawn ideal for outdoor living and entertaining.
These elements combine to create a home that is both beautiful and functional, designed from the ground up to accentuate the way modern families live, play and entertain.
Who is the Builder?
In my previous business life, I founded Sagatov Associates— a company that has come to be known, especially in Arlington, for designing and building modern homes and renovations. Under my guidance, the company was on the forefront of high performance/green building. I started the NVBIA Green Building Committee in 2006, which was instrumental in introducing Energy Star and Green Building to the local homebuilding community. In 2014, my son took over Sagatov Associates. I toyed with retirement but my passion for real estate and building brought me back into the business. I have been building in Arlington the last few years. 504 Kingsley is my re-introduction to Vienna. I’m looking forward to bringing quality and innovation back to the Vienna new home market!
