The Williamsburg Neighborhood Arlington- A Great Neighborhood For Families
The Williamsburg neighborhood of Arlington is located in the Northwest part of the county, nestled between McLean and Falls Church. Along with the adjacent neighborhoods of Rock Spring and Arlington-East Falls Church, Williamsburg is an area where the lines between Arlington, Falls Church and McLean blur, and often times the only way to tell which city you’re in is by the color of the street signs. It is a community of hilly tree-lined streets where growing families abound.
A neighborhood favorite is Williamsburg Shopping Center (pictured above), where an eclectic collection of mom and pop shops provide a convenient variety of services to residents:
– Two dry cleaners
– Arlington’s best BBQ joint- Backyard Barbecue
– A traditional barber shop and a modern salon
– Great Chinese food from Peking Pavilion.
Some of the shops, like Backyard Barbecue for example, are owned by neighborhood residents, adding a touch of small-town charm to the mix. There are also two banks, a CVS and a 7-11 in the shopping center, which is a quick walk or bike ride down the street for most residents.
Many local residents find Williamsburg’s unique location ideal for their daily commute. Several secondary roads that are used daily by locals to avoid major traffic congestion run through or adjacent to Williamsburg, providing easy access to Tyson’s Corner, Georgetown, McLean/Great Falls and Falls Church.
One of the main reasons for Williamsburg’s big popularity among young families are the great schools that the neighborhood’s residents attend: – Nottingham and Tuckahoe Elementary – Williamsburg Middle – Yorktown High School. These schools are all conveniently located in or very near the neighborhood itself.
There are also a couple great parks right around the corner, including the extremely popular Greenbriar Park. Williamsburg is the ideal place for families that are looking for a laid-back and kid friendly oasis in the heart of North Arlington, or anyone else who wants to live nearby but insulated from the hustle and bussle of North Arlington, Tyson’s Corner and Falls Church.
